    memphis may fire - challenger i tried to listen to this with an open mind since i was disappointed with their last album. i keep reminding myself that they are no longer southerncore, and that they have no intention of going back to that. fine with me. it’s just that this album is kind of bland. most of the songs sound the same like the previous album. they even went and repeated a “hello and goodbye” lyric from the previous album. i enjoyed it, but when every song sounds the same, you get bored after a few songs. also, some of the breakdowns feel forced. maybe it’ll grow on me.
